We are committed to actively defending the fundamental rights of the most vulnerable populations, especially children and women, and to promoting the role of women in all areas of society.
As part of this commitment, we hold an annual Women Working for the World forum, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and for the first time will reach more places in Colombia. This forum arises from our dedication to advancing gender equality and responds to the need to expand our work in promoting and protecting women’s rights.
The forum has become the leading platform in Colombia to discuss issues of gender and sustainable social development. Our objectives are to contribute knowledge, raise awareness of gender issues, position the topic on the national public agenda, identify best practices, promote the exchange of experiences and propose solutions, and involve civil society.
Catalina is also recognized as a leader in social entrepreneurship and an example for young people. She is a 2017 Women Leaders in Global Health Fellow at Stanford University, as well as an Ashoka and Schwab Foundation Fellow. She is also part of the Women’s March Global Board since 2018 and has been a speaker at events such as Georgetown University, TEDWomen, Fortune Most Powerful Women, among others.

In this sense, one of the main activities that we carry out annually is the Women Working for the World Conference, which arose given our commitment to advancing gender equity and responds to the need to expand our promotion and protection of women’s rights work.
Today, it is the biggest and most important platform for discussion and reflection on gender issues and sustainable social development in Colombia. Our objectives are mainly to contribute and generate knowledge; raise awareness about gender issues; position the issues on the national public agenda; identify best practices, encourage the exchange of experiences and propose solutions; and involve civil society.
Catalina, for her part, is widely recognized as a social entrepreneurship leader and is an example for young people. She is part of the Women Leaders in Global Health Fellow 2017 at Stanford University, as well as Ashoka and Schwab Foundation Fellow; belongs to the Global Women’s March Board since early 2018; and has been invited as a speaker to multiple conferences around the world, including Georgetown University, Standard Chartered Bank, TEDWomen, Citibank, Aspen Institute, Fortune Most Powerful Women, UN Women, Nobel Peace Prize Summit and Babson College.
