In 3 years, we have benefited 1.847 people in Medellín.

At this time, we serve 585 teenage mothers and their children at our headquarters in Medellín, thanks to the alliances developed with Cesde and Comfama. Of them:

  • 222 in the process of labor inclusion.

We have 27 young people receiving monetary support through SENA quota with the following companies:

  • Grupo Reditos
  • BTG Pactual
  • Siemens

Our results:

  • 100% of the young women have had opportunities to be included in training activities and/or formal job opportunities.
  • 100% of women use planning methods to prevent STDs and subsequent pregnancies. Through the Sexual and Reproductive Health module, young women learn to be responsible for their sexuality.
  • Family meetings are held to strengthen affective ties, helping 70% of families support the process of transformation of young people, in addition to training on issues such as conflict resolution and healthy lifestyles.
  • 61% of the young women finish secondary education, 39% are studying high school, 45% finish their higher technical training and 55% are studying higher technical training.
  • 45% of young women complete their technical training and are certified.
    100% of young women acquire practical emotional intelligence tools that provide them with tools to enter the formal labor market and generate a stable and decent income.
  • 80% of adolescents have entered the world of work, earning a first minimum wage in their work practice phase.
    The remaining 20% ​​is in the academic phase and 35% (25 adolescents) are already being sponsored by companies such as Grupo Réditos, Simex, and BTG Pactual. During their academic phase, they receive 50% of the Current Legal Minimum Monthly Wage.

Medellín

At this time, we serve 130 teenage mothers and their children at our headquarters in Medellín, thanks to alliances developed with the Mayor’s Office of Medellín and Comfama.

  • There were 56.4 births per 1,000 women between 15 and 19 years.
  • In 2018, 4,375 teenage pregnancies were reported, equivalent to 16% of the city’s total pregnancies.
  • 276 girls between the ages of 10 and 14 became pregnant in Medellín, which is considered child sexual abuse.
  • The communes with the highest incidence of teenage pregnancy are Popular, Manrique, Villa Hermosa and Javier.
  • In 2017, informality was 42.4%.
  • In 2017, 4,841 cases of domestic violence were reported.
  • There were 15,139 complaints of non-fatal injuries; and of these, 3,135 corresponded to maltreatment.
  • In 2018, 41 women were killed in Medellín. Of this number, 14 cases were due to gender violence.
  • 87% of the total victims of sexual abuse in Medellín, in 2018, were girls and adolescent women. Reports of child sexual abuse have increased by 8% in the last two years. In 2018, 2,154 were made.
