ICONIC COMPANIES CREATING A BETTER WORLD FOR ALL AWARD
In August of 2019, we received the Iconic Companies Creating a Better World for All Award at the Women Economic Forum Latin America.
2020
In 2020 we benefited 11,169 people: 9,423 in Cartagena and 1,675 in Medellín. Against all odds, we managed to get 42% of young people in Cartagena employed and 76% in Medellin, in a very difficult year for the economy. These figures make us feel satisfied with the work carried out and invite us to go for more in 2021. In addition, thanks to our care program for the Venezuelan migrant population, we assisted 3,764 women and children.
we certify
as a Great Place to Work as one of the most attractive employees in Colombia.
additionally, we install
solar panels for an energy substitution of 40% of the needs of the Social Complex in Cartagena.
2021
We reached 16 thounsand people in Cartagena and Medellin. We employed 420 young people in both cities.
We achieve a historic landmark in the market of capitals as the only non-profit organization raising resources through the A2censo platform of the Stock Excahnge of Colombia. Thanks to this, we were part of the third Social Impact Bond, that allowed us to hire for three months, along with Comfama, 376 people living in poverty and vulnerability.
Through the TVET Project we decided to improve our 360 model, we completed the exploratory phase and advanced in the creation of plans that allow us to review how we can do things better, how we can have a greater impact.
We ventured on the creation of our digital gender platform Women Working for the World. The first year, we reached 60 thousand unique users and more than 20 countries, with quality content that position us as a benchmark in gender and social development in Latin America. Our community in social networks reached 7 thousand followers.
Juanfe foundation is recognized in Spain by the Mapfre Foundation for the 360 degree model as the Best Initiative for Social Impact, a model of social development that lifts teen mothers out of extreme poverty and vulnerability situation in Colombia, Chile and Panama. We were the only one Colombian organization at the gala.
2022
In that year we had great challenges:
Increase our impact in each of the cities where we operate.
We continue with the TVET technical cooperation project with the IDB to improve our 360 model.
We will be in the fourth Social Impact Bond (BIS) in the country.
2023
In 2023, we celebrated a series of significant achievements in our operations in Cartagena and Medellín, demonstrating our continued commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of the communities we serve.
In Cartagena:
- We achieved LEED Platinum status as recognition of our sustainable building, reflecting our commitment to the environment and energy efficiency.

- We successfully participated in the social impact bond, surpassing the goals of linkage and retention, resulting in high levels of satisfaction in employment retention at three months.
These achievements reflect our continued commitment to the progress and well-being of the communities we serve, inspiring us to continue advancing our mission in the coming year.
2024
We have ambitious plans to continue positively impacting our communities. We are expanding our intervention model to new cities in Colombia and Latin America. Additionally, we will continue to work on the continuous improvement of our 360° Model. Aware of the importance of innovation, we will strengthen our processes and strategic business units, such as the industrial bakery and the Women Working for the World forum.
Finally, we commit to actively contribute to the country’s development by influencing the design of public policies for the prevention of adolescent pregnancy and the implementation of Social Impact Bonds (SIBs).
WHERE IS JUANFE GOING?
We will continue to lead the methodological transfer of our intervention model to other cities in Colombia and Latin America, in order to increase our social and economic impact in the region. Currently, we are working to reach Yopal, Barranquilla, and Bucaramanga in Colombia.
Regarding the randomized controlled trial that we have been developing together with the Universidad de los Andes and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), we will identify opportunities to improve our 360 Degree Model.
On the other hand, aware of the importance of continuous innovation for development and social change, and with the aim of being even more competitive, we will strengthen, with the support of ACTEC and the Belgian Government, our processes and strategic business units, among them: the industrial bakery, the Women Working for the World forum and the opening of our educational institution to new populations. Thus, we will ensure both self-sustainability and sustainability, as well as technical training, employment, and economic autonomy for a greater number of people.
Lastly, we aspire to actively contribute to the development of the country by influencing the design of public policies for the prevention of adolescent pregnancy and Social Impact Bonds (BIS).
